- Abhiram Menon, Cluster General Manager, said corporate travel and MICE are integral given the complex's location on a major commercial corridor.

Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy TechVillage Outer Ring Road have appointed Ravinder Chahal as Director of Sales – Corporate and Ankur Mazumdar as Director of Sales – MICE, splitting the dual-branded complex's commercial leadership across its two largest revenue lines.
The two hires carry a combined record of roughly 24 years in hospitality sales. Chahal brings more than a decade across corporate sales, key account management, revenue growth and market strategy. Mazumdar brings approximately 14 years across MICE, associations, conferences, corporate sales and large-format events.
Who does what?
Chahal now leads the Corporate Sales vertical. His remit covers strengthening key accounts, developing new business opportunities and expanding the hotels' engagement with Bengaluru's corporate ecosystem. Mazumdar leads MICE Sales, covering meetings, incentives, conferences, associations and events, with a stated focus on growing relationships with corporates, associations and professional conference organisers.
Both roles report into a cluster structure led by Abhiram Menon, Cluster General Manager of Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy TechVillage Outer Ring Road.
Menon framed the appointments around location rather than headcount. He said: "Corporate travel and MICE are integral to our business, particularly given our location within one of Bengaluru's most dynamic commercial corridors. Ravinder and Ankur bring strong market understanding, deep customer relationships and complementary experience across corporate sales, associations, conferences and events."
He added that he looks forward to seeing them "work closely with our teams and partners to strengthen our commercial performance and further establish the complex as a preferred destination for business travel, meetings and events."
Where did the two directors come from?
Chahal joins from Novotel & ibis Bengaluru ORR, where he served as Assistant Director of Sales and led sales initiatives across corporate accounts, forecasting and business development. He has also held sales roles at Taj Bangalore and Citrus Bengaluru ORR. Accor India recognised him with its Cross Sell Award of the Year in both 2018 and 2019 — the only named performance metric either appointee carries.
Mazumdar joins from Fairmont Mumbai, where he was Associate Director of Sales managing Corporate and MICE business across South India. His earlier roles include senior sales positions at Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center and at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre & Hyderabad International Convention Centre, with a focus on national and international associations and MICE business.
The pattern in both track records is convention-led inventory: every prior posting involved large-format event venues or corporate-heavy business districts, which matches the demands of the Embassy TechVillage complex.
What did the appointees say?
Chahal positioned the market, not the property, as the draw. He said: "Bengaluru continues to be an important corporate market, and I am excited to take on this role at Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy TechVillage. I look forward to deepening our relationships with existing partners, building new corporate accounts and working closely with our teams to create solutions that respond to the evolving needs of business travellers and organisations."
Mazumdar pointed to the scale of the venue as his working asset. He said: "The scale of the meetings and events offering at Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy TechVillage presents an exciting opportunity to further grow the MICE business. I look forward to working closely with corporates, associations, professional conference organisers and our partners to create compelling event experiences and strengthen the complex's position within Bengaluru's meetings and events market."
What should readers weigh?
The announcement is a personnel statement, not a performance disclosure. It names no revenue targets, no occupancy figures and no event-booking volumes against which to judge either hire. What it does establish is structure: one director per major segment, both with prior experience in Bengaluru's ORR corridor and in convention-scale properties.
The underlying claim — that corporate travel and MICE justify dedicated leadership — rests on the complex's position inside a commercial corridor rather than on published demand data. Whether the appointments convert into measurable share gains in Bengaluru's meetings market will show in the complex's bookings over the coming quarters.
