A Wilmington, Delaware, announcement from United Electric Supply names three leaders, including two employees who joined the distributor in 2019 and 2022.
Jim Blank becomes vice president of sales for the Chesapeake Region, overseeing sales and product-group teams, market-growth initiatives and employee-owner development. He joins the United Leadership team with more than 20 years of experience in electrical distribution and industrial markets, spanning sales leadership, operations, business development and customer service.
United says Blank has led teams, built customer-focused growth strategies and expanded business opportunities across multiple markets. Those claims carry no revenue, market-share or productivity figures in the announcement, so they establish experience rather than a measured sales result.
United Electric Supply President and CEO Tony Buonocore said: “Jim brings valuable experience, strong leadership skills, and a shared commitment to our values. His proven ability to lead teams, execute growth strategies, and deliver results makes him a valuable addition to our leadership team.”
For sellers in Blank’s region, the announcement assigns one executive to coordinate the sales and product groups, but does not specify territory boundaries, quotas or any change to lead qualification, pricing or closing. It documents a management change, not a tested sales workflow.
What changes for Jason Kyle and Delmarva sales?
Jason Kyle will become district sales manager for the Delmarva District while retaining leadership of the Salisbury, Maryland, branch. He joined United in 2022 as branch manager and brings more than 20 years of electrical-distribution experience across operations and sales leadership.
United credits Kyle with quickly making an impact in Salisbury and then working closely with the territory sales team to strengthen sales and pursue district growth. The announcement reports no win rate, revenue change or cycle-time figure for that work, so its assessment of impact remains unmeasured.
Kyle’s stated remit covers sales and regional growth initiatives across Delmarva, including opportunities aligned with United’s growth strategy, alongside his continued Salisbury branch duties. No sales stage, team size or individual target appears in the announcement.
What does the Dover appointment cover?
Tim Hopkins will manage day-to-day operations at the Dover, Delaware, branch, with responsibility for customer service, sales, employee development, safety and operational excellence.
He joined United in 2019 as a warehouse associate and advanced through promotions including counter sales associate and counter service manager. United attributes that progress to his leadership and commitment to customer service.
The announcement also cites his customer experience and knowledge of sales and operations as the basis for leading the branch, but provides no Dover headcount, order-volume or conversion data to test that assessment.
Buonocore linked Kyle and Hopkins to the company’s succession plan: “Jason and Tim are part of our succession plan in the Delmarva District and have built strong careers at United. They consistently demonstrate the leadership qualities, work ethic, and commitment to our values that we look for in future leaders.”
What changes for sales teams?
United frames the appointments around developing talent, supporting succession planning and driving growth across its markets. It documents company tenures for Kyle and Hopkins but not for Blank, and it supplies no financial targets, measurement method or before-and-after performance data.
For sales leaders, the practical distinction is the scope of accountability: Blank covers regional sales and product groups; Kyle spans district growth and the Salisbury branch; Hopkins owns Dover’s customer service, sales, safety and operations. That is a hierarchy of duties, not evidence of faster deal cycles.
The next test for United is whether the new mandates produce reported sales gains; the current announcement documents appointments, not results.
