Neer reports working with 12 creator teams and 1.27 million combined followers, but its offline voucher product remains in preparation and the seed amount is undisclosed.

Who is backing neer?

The Korean startup raised seed capital from the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation. The center found neer through its startup support program. It plans to back follow-on growth, including a TIPS linkage. Those are stated intentions, not disclosed financial commitments, and the source gives no round size, valuation, use of funds, or timetable for the follow-on support.

CEO Lee Tae-yun described the local market as large and underdeveloped. He called it the place where "people find places and stores meet customers" and said the company aims "to open this market." The remarks were translated from Korean.

The round confirms a seed investment, but not its scale. A seed round without terms can mark conviction. It cannot yet mark a scaled business.

What does neer actually map?

Neer uses AI to analyze posts about restaurants, cafes, and travel spots on Instagram and YouTube. It then links those venues to location data and collects them on a map. The company says fans visit the mapped spots and share reviews and new finds, but the source provides no visit totals or definition of what qualifies as a recommendation.

The 12-team figure is a company-reported network measure, not an audited sales result. The source does not define the teams, disclose visits, or separate recommendations from other posts. Follower reach is not customer acquisition. Calling it a funnel changes the label, not the arithmetic.

Where do vouchers fit in the sale?

Neer plans to sell prepaid discount vouchers through creators who feature a store. Fans would buy a voucher, then redeem it at the venue in person. Stores would pay only for vouchers actually sold.

The proposed workflow follows a local-store sale from discovery through redemption: a video points to a place, neer maps it, and a voucher connects the recommendation to an offline transaction.

Neer says stores spend on sampling, sponsorships, and platform ads without knowing whether those outlays become customers. Its records would show which creator drove how many visitors. Creators would earn from sales instead of relying on one-off sponsorships. Neer wants redemption to work like a gift voucher, with no staff training required.

This applies to creator-led campaigns for restaurants, cafes, and travel venues; the source names no participating store count or merchant-team size. More importantly, neer has not launched the voucher service, so no sales, redemption rate, creator payout, or store revenue is available. A measurement product awaiting measurement remains, for now, a well-described spreadsheet without data.

Why is YouTube central?

In interviews with about 100 users, neer found long-form YouTube videos were the most trusted source for deciding where to go. The startup describes those videos as less ad-driven and richer in detail. Because the company conducted the interviews, the finding is a vendor claim, and the source does not publish the survey questions, sampling method, or response set.

Finding a venue in a long clip can require scrubbing back through the footage. Neer is building video-understanding AI to identify locations and add them to the map automatically. It also plans its own low-cost model to process video at scale. The company gives no accuracy rate, processing cost, or launch date.

Is creator commerce reaching local stores?

CJ ONSTYLE has named creator commerce a growth pillar for 2026, according to Dealroom's market account. Dealroom says most creator-commerce models focus on product distribution rather than visits to local stores. In China, Douyin has built voucher sales on creator videos. Neer wants to measure creator marketing through actual offline revenue instead.

Douyin supplies an operating precedent, not a performance benchmark: the source gives no voucher sales, redemption rates, or merchant results for its Chinese example. CJ's strategic designation also does not establish neer's market size. Still, the combination identifies a clear test for neer, which is whether a mapped recommendation can produce a redeemed local purchase.

Neer's case remains early-stage validation rather than proven traction. The next useful checkpoint is not another follower total; it is disclosed redemption and revenue data from named stores.
